PROGRAMS:
CREECH
addresses the long-term conditions of poverty of families
and individuals in the Forth Ward of Patterson through
it's existing services and partnership with other agencies.
Along with it's community partners, CREECH assesses the
entire family and prepares a family empowerment plan that
will identify long term solutions for it's constituents,
regarding housing, mental illness, education, and social
behavior.

CREECH
presentlly serves approximately two thousand families
per month who are either homeless or low or no income.
CREECH provides the following services to these
families:
1.
FOOD AND NUTRITION SERVICES:
CREECH is a community food pantry that provides
food commodities and nutritional information customized
to the needs of the individual client. These services
will be received at the center. The Creech's Center,
adjacent to the proposed building, will be utilized
for informational, social service and counseling
services for participants. |

2.
AFTERCARE PROGRAM:
The Aftercare program consists of four components:
Tutorial:
Each
child will receive assistance from certified teachers,
staff and volunteers with their homework, tests
and general knowledge of the subject matter. The
staff will also iwork with the school system to
augment what is being done in the classroom and
to work on the behavoir of the child.
Financial
Literacy: Each
child will be instructed in how money works and
how it can empower their lives. this will be done
through workshops, individual counseling and field
trips. Each child will also receive a savings and
a checking account.

College
program: Under
the college initiative all students will recive
a 529 account that will assist them with financing
their college education. They will also attend college
field trips, receive assistance with college applications
and testing. The education coordinator will interact
with the school system to ensure that they are selecting
the correct curriculum at their present schools
for college.
Summer
Program: Under
the summer program all children will enjoy field
trips, recreational, educational, and cultural activities.
Children will receive educational instruction to
prepare for the school year and prepare for the
ESPA and GEPA testing.

3.
TRANSPORTATION:
CREECH presently provides transportation services
to participants in the aftercare and self-sufficiency
program.
4.
EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE / DRESS FOR SUCESS:
The job training coordinator assess each paticipant
and assist each one identify petential employment,
job skill development, resume writing and life skills.
Each participant will have access to the computer,
fax and telephone to secure employment. Under the
dress for success program, workshops will be conducted
to expose participants to the proper attire for
employment and provide them with clothing for their
interviews.

5.
FAMILY ADVOCATE: The
family advocate will intervene on behalf of each
family regarding, legal, social services, income
maintenance, employment, and educational issues.
6.
HEALTH SCREENING: CREECH
CDC in partnership with the City of Paterson's Department
of Health will conduct health screening for all
participants quarterly. Services will include blood
pressure, HIV, diabetes, and cholesterol testing. |
